Description

Product Overview

Hodgdon H4350 Extreme Extruded propellant is a burning speed that has been known to shooters for decades. During that time, Hodgdon has modernized H4350 by shortening the grains for improved metering and making it insensitive to hot/cold temperatures. H4350 is ideal in the WSM family of calibers (270, 7mm, 30, 325). H4350 is the standard in such cartridges as the 243 Winchester, 6mm Remington, 270 Winchester, 338 Winchester Magnum and many more. For magnums with light to moderate weight bullets, it can’t be beat!

Have been using H4350 for years in 1lb containers. This is my 1st venture to an 8 lb container. If any thing, the 8 lb should help w consistency. The powder itself (H4350) has given me some of my most accurate loads for my 6 MM (75/85 gr), 260 (123 gr), 30-06 (165 gr)and 300 H&H 165 (gr). It has been best for me w mid-weight bullets per caliber.

Very versatile & gives stable velocities in 6.5mm & 6mm Creedmoor. Also works well in 6mm Norma BR & 6mm Hagar. Meters far better than I expected for a stick powder.

Since many consider this to be THE powder for the 6.5 Creedmoor, I decided to try it. I easily found a load my Creedmoor likes. 3 shot 300yd groups of 1.5". 5 shot 300yd groups of 2". For me, that's great, so I bought a 2nd jug to ensure I have enough on hand to possibly wear out my barrel. Thompson Center LRR, 42.0GR H4350, HORNADY BRASS, CCI 200, HORNADY 140GR BTHP MATCH, 2.825" OAL, 2736FPS AVERAGE AT 10' AND 70 DEGREES (start lower and work up!)

I use the Hodgdon H4350 powder with the .264 Hornady ELD match rounds to get consistent accuracy out to 1250 yards. I would recommend it too anyone that hand loads for consistent accuracy.

One of my best performing recipes is with this powder. 6.5 Creedmoor is excellent as an accurate round, but with this powder coupled with Starline brass and 140 GRAIN ELD's is a great combo...

If you reload 6.5 Creedmoor, you owe to yourself to try this powder. It is a real group shrinker. The 6.5 and H4350 were made for each other. This is one powder that I try to make sure that I never run out of.

I have two powders that I use for my 30-06 loads with this being one of them. This one is probably my favorite due to the varied range of temperatures that I shoot in. Very consistent! from Ammunition Array

This is considered the powder for 6.5 Creedmoor for long distance precision shooting. It has been hard to find since 6.5 CM is a very popular caliber at the moment. So if you see it you need to buy it. Stay safe.

I use H4350 for reloading Remington .260 cartridges with Lapua Scenar .139gr .264 bullets. Through extensive testing with many other powders designed for this usage I found H4350 gave me the most consistent velocity at a point where my gun is most accurate. Using H4350 gives me the confidence of knowing my gun is doing the best it can giving me the peace of mind to concentrate on the things I need to do as a shooter.

I use this powder exclusively for long distance target shooting for 260 Remington and 6.5 Creedmoor. It's consistent and meters really well from my Redding competition powder dispenser. I haven't felt the need use anything different. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My first time using this powder, I just looked at the load data for a 120gr TTSX and picked 42.1 gr of H4350. I put three shots into .271 inch. I think I found a new deer load for my Creedmoor. About 2800fps out of the barrel of my Savage Axis 2 with the heavy barrel. Mild recoil and it just seems so easy to shoot. Lookout whitetails. Thanks for having it in stock Ammunition Array.

Temperature Sensative I liked this powder at first. It produced likable velocities and grouped as well as any others. Fall came with a 60 degree drop in tempurature which caused a 300 f/s loss in velocity. I was quite supprised so, kinda weird, I stuck a round under each armpit. Once they were warm after a long wait ...

In reference to the other post on temperature sensitivity with this powder, I too have seen more than advertised velocity variation with H-4350. My load for a Tikka 243 Win was 100 gr Nosler partition, Win LR primer, H-4350. Using the same cases, powder, primers etc. I left the gun and shells outside over night. At 30 degrees it gave an average velocity of 2940 fps. Leaving gun and shells inside at 70 degrees gave an average of 2980 fps. Leaving gun and shells at 110 degrees for several hours still gave an average of 2980 fps. This is good, better than other brands of powders, mainly at 110 degrees. The fired primers looked about the same in all tests, ie the ones at 110 degrees were flattened the same as at 30 degrees. I called Hodgdon and asked Mike a tech. Interestingly enough he admitted that their tests are not done to represent the real world. They only cool or heat the loaded shell, not the gun. He said this truly tested the powder. My opinion is that may not be true. Having a gun at room temperature and the shells at 10 degrees or 100 degrees could give misleading results. The difference in the gun's temperature may compensate for variation in the powder. What hunters and target shooters are interested in are real world results. In this regard they may have failed a bit (especially in their advertising.) Another similar test that I ran in a 7mm WSM with H-1000 powder showed almost no variation from 110 degrees down to 10 degrees. It was a compressed load with 160 gr Nosler Partition. I still maintain the Extreme powders are the best for velocity/pressure variation, especially at the high end of usable temperatures.
