Great primers. I use them for service rifle matches and have reloaded about 7,000 rounds with zero misfires. Not too hard and not to soft. Never had a slam fire with these primers. IMO a great value and a great small rifle primer.

I have used these primers in my Thompson Contender for several years with excellent results, I get .01" 3 shot groups, at 100 yards from my 14" Contender all day any day (3 rounds through 1 ragged hole). I load Rem Cases, Sierra 170gr JHC and 21.8gr's of H110 and have never blown or peirced a primer due to the thincker cup. Highly recomend these for any high pressure load

I loaded 35,000 223s with 4064 powder one winter and never had a missfire. both semi and full auto.this is the only small rifle primer I will ever use.

Haven't had a failure yet after 2000+ rounds. I can't speak to accuracy issues shooting cayotes at 600yds, but my Bushmaster M4 seems to be just fine with 2" groups at 100yds. I loaded the first 1000 rnds on a single stage, all match quality (I was very precise). The rest on a LoadMaster (a little more lax with case length tolerances and using an Auto measure). Haven't seen any drop off in accuracy, and the dependability is flawless to date

Excellent Primer ! I have been using these primers for years. I have shot several thousand of them. I have yet to have a dud or light ignition. I recently tried another popular brand and had several duds. In two different rifles of different calibers. I will by Remington primers every time when they are available.

I and many of my fellow competitors have used these primers for over twenty years of reloading. I find any negative review unfounded as some very high scores and tight groups have been fired with Rem7 1/2's. At first I admit the price was a factor in trying these years ago but I have never looked back or regretted one shot fired with these primers. Great reloading component.

I use these primers in my 6mm-PPC with Norma brass. They fit much more snugly in the primer pocket than any other that I have used. I use the RCBS hand held primer tool and they go in with ease. I have to believe that contributes to accuracy. I will never use any other small rifle primer, as long as they are available.

Use them in Lake City .223 reloads. What's to review? They seat well, you pull the trigger and it goes bang. no duds yet (300 rds)

I use these primers in my .223 CZ 527 bolt rifle. My reloads with the Remington # 7 1/2 primers are very accurate with the best 25 hand loads averaging under 0.305 inches at 100 yards. The best hand load averaged 0.201. These primers work really well with H335 and N140 powders with bullets under 55 grains and with H4895 with heavier bullets. They are my go to primers with my bolt rifle, but they are a bit too soft for a service rifle firing pin IMO.

Been using these for 15 years and shoot 100 rounds per week and NEVER had one fail to ignite. My rifles consistently produce quarter to half inch groups with this primer. Other primers some times match it but none beat it. If someone is getting a lot of misfires, there's a gun problem going on

I have been using Rem. 7 1/2 and 7 1/2 BR primers for 37 years. I have never had a dud and they are the most accurate primers I can find for my Rem.222. I have tested many primers and these are the one. The #6 1/2 primers are the most accurate I have found for my 22 K Hornet. If these primers don't work for you. You have another problem.

As a professional shooter in Australia I go through around 18,000 rounds per year. I have been using the Rem. 71/2 primers for around 35 years now and have never experience a misfire in all that time. I use them in my .223 and in my .17Rem. They have given consistent ignition and zero failures. What more can I ask from a primer?

Trying to understand all this talk about duds. Been reloading for many years for about 8 calibers from .204 ruger to .338 lapua, and after thousands of rounds I've never had a "dud". I shoot remington 7 1/2 benchrests through my tikka t3 varmint in .204 ruger and get 1/4 inch groups at 200 yards and at 100 can shoot 20 rounds and end up with one hole about the size of a .45 hole. And I'm not trying to brag because I'm really not that good of a shot.Sounds to me like the guys getting all those duds have a gun or other issues. It's not the primers.

I started out with CCI BR4 primers for my 6mm PPC benchrest rifle. They were very accurate, but did not always ignite. This is not say that BR4 primers aren't good, They work flawlessly in my .223 and 20 Vartarg rifles. My 6mm rifle just doesn't like them. Given that Federal 205M primers are non-existent, I decided to try the Remington 7 1/2 primers. Consistent ignition and no pressure signs. I tried 50 rounds with the 7 1/2 primers. Average 5 shot group size was .154". The Remington primers are now my primer of choice for my 6mm rifle.

Been reloading since 1985, and have used many kinds of primers. Right now i'm loading 5000 once fired 223 cases with 5000 Rem 7 1/2br primers, and 5000 Hornady 75gr bthp bullets. I have never had a "dud" and by the way I shoot gophers with AR15 rifles, and shoot them by the thousands. If you have such problems, check your rifle.

I have been useing these primers in my .222, for years, with either BL-C2, or 4198. I have not found another primer that gives such good accuracy, or clean burning. If you shoot a .22 centerfire you need to try these primers!

After using thousands of these in competitive shooting contests over the years, I don't remember a bad primer. I am still using them today and would recommend them to anyone using small rifle primers. To those having problems - are you storing primers close to a cat litter box( the ammonia is bad)? Have lube on your fingers or trays when handling?

I have used this primer for 20+ years in 17 Hornet, Rem, 222 Rem, 223 Rem and 222 Rem Mag. Never have I had a failure to fire and have given me the most consistent accuracy. If you rifle does not shoot well with them try changing other components as the primer is not your issue

I use this primer the vast majority of the time for my competition ammo (6Creed, 223 Rem, 308 Win Palma) They have never let me down working up a good load, and have never pierced or had a dud in 38 years of reloading.

I have read on a forum of others praising these Remington 7 1/2 primers. I loaded 4 different loads using identical components except the primers and the Remington s were clearly the best.

When components were hard to find I started using the 7-1/2 primers. I had used CCI BR4's as I already had some. I saw an immediate difference with the Remington Primers and have used them ever since in my 223 loads, my 22 Hornet, and my 300 Blackout. What I have found is that they work best in my 223 AR rifles. These are a hotter primer good for ball powders. This is probably why I saw a difference from the cooler BR4 primers. I have found cooler primers work better in my 300 Blackout and for stick powders in my 22 Hornet. I don't mean a world of difference, I mean 1/4 to 1/2 MOA difference. I bought some more recently to stock up as now I am having a hard time finding Remington primers. I have had great success with their primers and not one has failed to light.

When I bought my first AR180 in 1973, the owner's manual stipulated Remington 7 1/5 primers to prevent the firing pin from piercing the primer cup and sucking that punched out piece into the action. I didn't listen and found that no other commercial primers would work in my AR180. The Remingtons worked flawlessly. Apparently, they are made to Mil Spec standards, like the CCI 41's. I have used Remington 7 1/5 primers since late 1973, and they work flawlessly in AR180's, all AR15 type platforms, Mini 14's, Mossberg Patrol rifle and my HK93.

I get consistent results with these primers in .223 loads. I also use Federal 205's & CCI 400's, but I find a tiny bit less consistency with CCI 450 (says the chrono.)

I love the remington 7 1/2 primers. they have given me the best accuracy but now they are not available for sale any wherel. what is going on with that? maybe the military is buying every one that remington can produce. does anyone have any information on this?

I have been a competitive shooter for many years. All my rifle ammo have been loaded with Remington primers. It does not matter long range or short Remington primers are always accurate and consistently every time.

I purchased 1000 of these as they were the only SR primers in stock. I reloaded 250 PPC .223 Rem cases with great difficulty as they were very hard to seat and required excessive force to seat. The cases had been reloaded before using CCI Primers without difficulty so it was definately the primers. I used about 300 primers to reload 250 rounds. Of the 50 I have fired, there were 18 failures (this has never happened with any other primer). I tried to use them in .38 Spec light loads, seating was the same with many damaged primers but only had 3 non-functioal rounds out of the 50. This may have been a bad run of primers but I will not buy them again, they are worst I have used in 40 years of reloading.

I've used Federal primers from the day I started reloading in 1985. They have always performed flawlessly for me, and these are no different. Federal Small Rifle primers are used by the vast majority of benchrest shooters, at least until recently when primers of any brand have been difficult to find anywhere.

I use over 20,000 of these a year as a competitive shooter. By far, the most reliable primer out there; especially if you shoot a striker-fired pistol. Cups are soft, they reload very well. I also use the Federal small rifle for my competition long range rifle. I use the small rifle match primers in all my Lapua brass for a 6.5. Sometimes they are hard to find, but when I do find them, I buy a lot!!! Best primer out there.

I shoot USPSA, IDPA, STEEL CHALLENGE, and also F-Class long range matches. I only use Federal primers. Anyone who uses a striker-fired pistol and shoots reloaded ammo should consider Federal. Soft, and extremely reliable.

I've been using Rem 71/2 primers for almost 30 years. With benchrest reloading techniques they have been faultless for me, consistent groups, consistent and predictable cup deformation and never a dud. They are not great reloaded in a progressive press or if you like to crush your primers deep in the pocket. Seated to make contact with the primer pocket base, or using uniform brass with a sinclair style seating tool they are fine. Crush them and you MIGHT have problems.

For some reason this primer works best with H335. Since this was the case I picked up a lot of 5,000. It may be a good idea to stock up on this stuff. 'Camp Perry' is coming up soon. Thats when it get to be nearly impossible to find components.

My gunsmith suggested the Remington 7 1/2 Bench Rest primers for my long range loads in Lapua Palma brass. He said it was the most consistant Small Rifle primer in his experience. Sure enough, in my testing these primers seem better than the competition. I have experienced one primer that fails to ignite in every match!?!? I don't understand. It is not a seating problem, I use best seating tools and have ridged quality control. Great service... rapid delivery and product well packed for shipping. Good-enough price too. Easy people to deal with. One of my favorite vendors.

I have a stock Weatherby Vanguard. 40 grain Nosler, AA 2230, pre-shot and neck sized Hornady brass and a Remington BR primer. I'm getting a .26 group at 100 yards. I'm getting about 3600FPS. I switched to a regular CCI small rifle primer and couldn't shoot under an inch even with adjustments. I've gone through about 500 primers and not had a dud one. I've had a couple hiss-pops with the CCI primers. Better quality product.
